Procedures-
PE is a place to learn and have fun while understanding the importance of taking care of your mind and body through proper use of exercise and nutrition. Rules are in place to ensure your safety and maximize your activity time. You are expected to be respectful of equipment and others at all times. Be an active listener and do your personal best. Wearing proper clothes and PE shoes is recommended. Crocs are acceptable but must be put in sport mode! Students are expected to participate in the exercise part of the class, if they don't, they DO NOT get to play the games and will be told to sit out. If a student is sick or injured and is unable to participate during PE, please bring a note or contact Coach via email or through class dojo.

Chattco Fitness Strong Club (CFSC)-
Cardio-1/2 mile run for 2nd and 3rd grade. 1 mile run for 4th and 5th grade
Flexibility- Sit and Reach (Feet flat against wall with straight legs reaching over to touch toes)
Strength- Perfect push-ups (Arms come to 90* "L" shape angle with chest almost touching the floor)
Core- Hold plank position (Push-up position but forearms flat on ground. Keep body straight)

These are the keys or building blocks to ensure that you remain physically fit. We all have a Chattco Fitness Club at home called the FLOOR. In PE we will learn the use of proper technique when performing these skills, that way we are able to work on them outside the classroom anywhere on your own time. Chattco Fitness Club can be taken anywhere and stays with you for life.

Silver and Gold scores can be obtained in each of the 4 main areas (Cardio, Flexibility, Strength, Core). While achieving these scores are great, it’s more important to understand the message of what your scores tell you. Your scores indicate your fitness levels and what you are doing good at, what you are doing great at, and areas in which you can improve on. The Chattco PE program shows you how to work on all of these. All you have to do is put forth the effort and provide your personal best during play and exercise.
Flexibility Scores- How far can you sit and reach? (Wall, Toes, Palms, Knuckles, Socks, (Fists>not pictured)

Coach's Bio-

Phil Le Zontier (Coach Z) is entering his 6th year of teaching elementary PE. Before coming to Chattco, Coach Z graduated Kennesaw State with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Health and Physical Education. He received his certification of teaching in May of 2018 by completing his student teaching at Sope Creek Elementary School located in Cobb County, where he taught for the entire school year. Sope Creek was ranked #1 in the entire state of Georgia for math testing in 2017-2018 school year. They also had one of the top PE programs in the state which led to those high test scores by having a lot of cardio based fitness games and activities. He is originally from Atlanta, GA and has worked with kids of all ages for the past few years prior to teaching. His mom used to be a Falcons cheerleader and his dad attended the University of Michigan and played football. So naturally he is a huge Atlanta Falcons, and Michigan Wolverines fan as well as Atlanta Braves Fan! He has always had a passion for sports and games.
